I decided to call in sick (even tho I wasn't scheduled to work) to get up to Mt. Hood Meadows to snowboard in the 5 - 9 inches of snow the NOAA promised. Unfortunately for me they are liars! The conditions were slush at the base with some fluff on top of groomed ice mid mountain. After a few runs the snow they promised showed up, along with some major wind.
Josh joined me for the day and decided to take the scenic route to Meadows so we arrived around 10am, two hours after we had left. Josh has been skiing since he was two years old. Thankfully he didn't mind the slower pace that I enjoy. While it was good to ride with Josh I most definitely missed my snowboarding buddy.
After lunch there was a sweet layer of fresh white stuff all over. Our excitement was cut short when high winds that blew us down and pricked out skin like needles. This didn't stop us from capturing some video footage of us just playing around. Thanks to Josh for putting the video together.
